Alpiq and GETEC ENERGIE founded the European Energy Service Platform GmbH in Berlin on September 29, 2016. The new company offers its services across borders in Europe. The offering covers a broad range of services for energy supply companies and new market participants, from commercial and IT services to billing and customer service, accounting and market communication services. In short, all the processes required to supply energy to end customers.

With the new platform, both partners are offering the business model of the GETEC ENERGIE subsidiary GETEC Daten- und Abrechnungsmanagement GmbH in Germany and expanding it to additional countries in Europe. GETEC ENERGIE has already been operating successfully with this business model in the German and Austrian energy market for over ten years and now handles more than 700,000 customers. Alpiq's many years of experience in trading electricity and gas in most European trading centers and Alpiq's cross-border customer network form the core of the business development alongside GETEC ENERGIE's process know-how.

For GETEC ENERGIE and Alpiq, the advantages of the cooperation for their partners are obvious. "The energy suppliers and new energy brands can use this platform to offer their respective end customers uniform services of high quality and at fair prices in almost all of Europe. As fewer different systems and interfaces are used, complexity and costs can be reduced," explains Bernward Peters, CEO of GETEC ENERGIE.

Specifically, in future energy supply companies will be able to supply their customers with energy quickly and flexibly from a single source without having to maintain the corresponding service processes and the systems required for this themselves. "The new platform provides the right tools and highly qualified personnel. Within just a few months, we can clarify the regulatory framework, set up the systems and processes and become active in all liberalized energy markets at short notice," says Bernward Peters.
