GETEC ENERGIE is supporting Deutsche Bahn in expanding its sustainable energy supply and will supply the company with around 50 GWh of wind power from the Nordleda wind farm in the district of Cuxhaven from 1 January 2022. This green electricity is sustainable in two ways: firstly, it is wind power generated by clearly identifiable plants. The electricity is sold directly to consumers with the help of direct electricity supply contracts, also known as PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) - without the involvement of the electricity exchange. On the other hand, energy consumers, in this case Deutsche Bahn, support plants that are no longer subsidized after twenty years of funding under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG-20Plus plants). Thanks to direct customers, these can still be operated economically and do not have to be dismantled. "Deutsche Bahn stands for environmentally friendly mobility like no other company in this country.
