GETEC ENERGIE supports Nestlé Germany in expanding its sustainable energy supply and supplies the Group's three largest production sites in Germany with green electricity from wind turbines that are no longer subsidized. Nestlé Wagner, for example, now produces its pizza in Nonnweiler in Saarland using wind power directly from the region. In addition to the plant in Nonnweiler, GETEC ENERGIE also supplies the sites in Hamburg and Biessenhofen with_CO2-neutral green electricity.In total, GETEC ENERGIE supplies Nestlé Germany with 103 GWh of wind power from EEG 20Plus plants. This volume corresponds to around 58% of the food group's total annual electricity requirements in Germany. The green electricity supplied by GETEC ENERGIE is generated by clearly identifiable plants. For example, the 58 GWh for the plant in Nonnweiler comes from a wind farm near Trier, among other sources. With the help of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), the electricity is sold directly to Nestlé - without going through the electricity exchange. By voluntarily paying more than on the electricity exchange, Nestlé is helping to ensure that plants that are no longer subsidized after 20 years under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG-20Plus plants) can still be operated economically and do not have to be dismantled."Sustainable production is playing an increasingly important role in the food industry.
