GETEC ENERGIE builds photovoltaic system on the roof of the Heise headquarters

The photovoltaic system is a further component of the sustainability strategy of the Hanover-based media company (c’t, heise online, Heise RegioConcept). Thanks to GETEC’s self-supply concept, the Heise Group can reduce its need for purchased electricity and also relieve the pressure on the electricity grid, which is under increasing strain as part of the energy transition. The electricity from its own roof is therefore doubly sustainable.

“We are delighted that we can now produce some of the energy we need ourselves. We need most of the power consumption for our data center and the necessary cooling,” explains Ansgar Heise, Managing Partner of the Heise Group.

“For some time now, we have seen a strong increase in demand from industry and commerce for holistic concepts for photovoltaic systems,” explains Cord Wiesner, CEO of GETEC ENERGIE. “Self-supply concepts are fundamentally economical and electricity from your own PV system always pays direct dividends in terms of sustainability,” Wiesner continues.
