More competition in the Austrian gas market: GETEC ENERGIE is expanding its offering for large commercial consumers in Austria at the start of 2025.
Hanover, 23.01.2025 - The German energy service provider GETEC ENERGIE GmbH (GETEC ENERGIE) is expanding its offering in Austria. Since January 1, 2025, GETEC ENERGIE has been offering Austrian industrial and multi-site customers the supply of natural gas.
GETEC ENERGIE has been offering Austrian industrial and multi-site* customers the supply of natural gas since the beginning of the year. The German company, which specializes in supplying B2B customers, has been active on the energy market since 2001 and offers commercial energy consumers in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands options for supplying both conventional electricity and gas products as well as supply solutions from renewable energy sources.
“The Austrian gas market is currently characterized by relatively little competition in the supply of large commercial consumers,” says Cord Wiesner, CEO of GETEC ENERGIE. “We are certain that the offer we can make to industrial and multi-site companies in Austria will meet with lively interest.”
GETEC ENERGIE was acquired by bp in August 2024 and is part of bp’s international gas and electricity trading business.
Jason Tate, VP European Power Trading & Origination at bp says: “The expansion of GETEC ENERGIE in Austria is another example of the expansion of bp’s European energy business. The integration of GETEC ENERGIE allows us to further expand our offering to new and existing customers by providing them with the energy they need.”
GETEC ENERGIE is currently working on further expanding its presence in Europe. The Hanover-based company plans to make its comprehensive range of energy solutions from conventional and sustainable sources available to even more industrial and multi-site companies in other European countries.
