Wind power PPA based on Germany-wide generation: e.optimum concludes electricity supply contract for 90,000 MWh with GETEC ENERGIE.

Power Purchase Agreements(PPAs) can be an attractive solution for the purchase of electricity from renewable sources. PPAs can be agreed between energy supply companies (ESCOs) and electricity producers. The energy supply company can then supply its end customers or other energy supply companies with electricity from renewable sources with a clear link to specific wind or photovoltaic systems.

The PPA that GETEC ENERGIE has concluded with the Offenburg-based energy supply company e.optimum is based on the nationwide forecast of wind power feed-in. Unlike traditional PPAs with specifically named generation plants, the electricity from Germany-wide wind farms is aggregated. This enables better planning and reduces the risks that can arise from the unavailability of individual generation plants. At the same time, the supply structure of the electricity remains transparent.
