ENERGY SUPPLY FOR THE CEMENT INDUSTRY

Cement remains a building material that is in high demand - not only due to the ongoing housing shortage, but also due to the accelerated expansion of renewable energies (e.g. wind turbines) and the urgent need to renovate infrastructure. The high regional distribution of demand for building materials and high transportation costs require nationwide production within Germany. We are the reliable partner that can provide large quantities of energy for groups of companies in the cement industry in a secure and plannable manner. At the same time, we offer in-depth know-how in order to optimally integrate in-house generation plants - for example from waste incineration or renewable energies - into the overall strategy and to manage energy requirements in a structured manner.

We look forward to working with you.

ENERGY PROCUREMENT AND DECARBONIZATION

The cement industry is one of the largest industrial CO₂ emitters - due to the high energy consumption and process-related CO₂ emissions in the production of building materials. The demand for lower-carbon energy sources such as electricity from renewable sources - procured via power purchase agreements (PPAs) and guarantees of origin (GOOs) - and biomethane is also increasing. In addition, new regulatory requirements present the sector with the challenge of making its energy consumption even more flexible. We provide you with comprehensive advice on all energy industry issues and work with you to develop a procurement strategy that is future-proof – both economically and regulatorily.

FINDING THE RIGHT MIX: ENERGY FROM RENEWABLE AND CONVENTIONAL SOURCES

We provide our customers in the cement industry with targeted support in procuring electricity and gas according to their individual requirements - from both renewable and conventional sources. We work with you to analyse your current situation and your decarbonization targets and develop a roadmap based on your specifications. This can include, for example, electricity from renewable sources - such as additional Guarantees of Origin (GOOs) or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) - and/or the procurement of biomethane.

COMBINING PLANNING SECURITY AND FLEXIBILITY: LET'S DEFINE YOUR PROCUREMENT STRATEGY TOGETHER.

Commercial energy consumers are often looking for procurement models that are ideal for maintaining the right balance between planning security and flexibility on the one hand and decarbonization targets and market-driven prices on the other. GETEC ENERGIE supports its customers with flexible procurement models that offer planning security and flexibility through a combination of long-term products and short-term market opportunities. Depending on the individual situation, this can mean, for example, that you procure a certain percentage of your energy requirements at prices traded on the futures market, another portion via a PPA and the remaining residual quantities at prices traded on the short-term spot market. This can be an important factor in the successful management of a company's energy costs.

OUR CUSTOMER PORTAL: KEEP AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR ENERGY.

Would you like to keep an eye on your energy data at all times, manage contracts and bills easily and make processes more efficient? Then our customer portal is just right for you: with the GETEC ENERGIE customer portal, you have round-the-clock access to all relevant information. Transparent, secure and intuitive to use. This saves you time, reduces administrative work and allows you to keep track of your energy supply at all times.
