WHAT IS THE GETEC-AUSTRIA-PPA?

The GETEC-Austria-PPA is a standardized electricity supply model that has been specially developed for companies that want to purchase electricity from renewable energy sources and at the same time attach importance to security of supply. It is based on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with fixed prices and enables commercial electricity consumers to purchase electricity with guarantees of origin (GOOs) from Austrian photovoltaic or wind power plants.

WE FOCUS ON TRANSPARENCY: WHAT EXACTLY ARE PPAS?

PPAs are a frequently discussed topic in connection with energy procurement. A PPA is an electricity supply contract between two parties, usually between an electricity producer and a buyer. This buyer can be a commercial consumer or an energy supply company such as GETEC ENERGIE or its joint venture GEWI, which buys the electricity directly from an electricity producer. The electricity procured by GETEC ENERGIE through GEWI for PPAs comes from renewable energy sources such as wind power or photovoltaic plants.In addition, the term "PPA" is often used by energy supply companies for electricity supply contracts with end customers, in which the energy supply company supplies the electricity purchased from the energy producer or a direct marketing company to the customer as part of its energy supply on the basis of a "customer PPA".

A fixed price gives our customers maximum planning security and keeps their energy costs stable in the long term. The terms are flexible – from supply contracts for less than a year to multi-year agreements – and can be individually adapted to the procurement strategy. Our industrial and commercial customers also enjoy complete freedom when it comes to delivery volumes: we coordinate the desired target volume with them and agree the amount of electricity to be supplied by the photovoltaic or wind power plants accordingly.  

RISK MINIMIZATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY-SPECIFIC PRODUCTION PROFILES

Another advantage lies in the minimization of risk: With our GETEC-Austria-PPA, supply is based on the generation profile of electricity generation from solar or wind power plants with guarantees of origin (GOOs), which means that weather-related fluctuations in individual energy plants are of little consequence. After the delivery period, our industrial and commercial customers receive certificates of origin with an exact allocation of the energy plants used. In this way, our customers cannot only work towards r but also document this credibly.

GETEC-AUSTRIA-PPA: HOW TO GET STARTED.

Getting started with the GETEC-Austria-PPA is straightforward and tailored to your individual requirements. You first select your expected delivery volume and the appropriate period – whether for a single calendar year or over several years. Any first day of the month is possible for the start of delivery, not just January 1st of a year. We then work with you to develop the right contract model. Once the contract has been concluded, we supply you with electricity with guarantees of origin (GOOs) from Austrian wind or solar power plants. At the end of the supply period, you will receive the corresponding guarantees of origin (GOOs) including a transparent allocation to the generation plants used – for complete documentation of your energy procurement from renewable sources.
