In 2017 we introduced an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001, which helps us to continuously improve our sustainability measures. Reduce the ecological footprint
To reduce your own ecological footprint, you can do a lot as an energy service provider without your own power plants. We have defined a catalog of measures that shows us the way towards a sustainable future. The measures range from converting our car fleet to electric vehicles, to avoiding air travel, to using sustainable products in everyday office life. Once a year we evaluate whether we have achieved the goals we have set ourselves. Therefore we also check whether these individual measures are still suitable for us to make further progress on our very own road to sustainability.

The desire among industrial and commercial enterprises to operate more sustainable and in a more climate-friendly manner is constantly growing. More and more customers in the B2B and B2C sectors want the products and services they consume to have as little impact on the environment as possible. At the same time, there is a partially opaque variety of ways in which companies can become more sustainable. We advise our clients comprehensively and work with them to develop a road map to a CO2-neutral future that is tailored to their needs.
We promote biodiversity.
Sufficient biodiversity is essential for a permanently functioning ecosystem. In Germany, just under a third of all animal and plant species are considered endangered. GETEC ENERGIE therefore supports the blühfläche.de e.V. association, which works to create sustainable and vibrant habitats for insects, nature and people.As a bloom sponsor, we support one hectare of bloom area near Hildesheim and thus support our environment to preserve the natural habitat of our diverse wildlife.More information about our flowering area can be found here.
Making socially responsible decisions
For us, taking responsibility also means making socially responsible decisions. We place the highest value on a non-discriminatory working environment and respectful, family-like cooperation. To express this claim, we have signed the Charter of Diversity (Charta der Vielfalt) - an initiative to promote diversity in the workplace under the patronage of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. It is also important to us to make responsible decisions on a small scale. We use fair trade products wherever possible and support social projects with our purchasing behavior.
Corporate Digital Responsibility
Responsible handling of our customers’, partners’ and applicants’ data is key for us. On the one hand, we of course adhere meticulously to the legal regulations, e.g. in terms of the General Data Protection Regulation. On the other hand, information security plays an outstanding role for us as an energy service company. In order to manage this professionally, we have introduced an information security management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2017 for the operation of our internal IT applications, the operation of the data center and our virtual power plant. Regularly, we have this reviewed by external auditors.
Making socially responsible decisions
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility have long played an important role for us. We are therefore particularly pleased to have achieved the gold status in the EcoVadis sustainability rating. This puts GETEC ENERGIE in the top 5 percent of all companies rated in the energy industry.
